The TWIG provides an upscale boutique where children in foster care can shop and forget about their cares, at least for a little while. Everything in the store reflects the latest fashion trends in new or “like new” condition, all provided free of charge to children in foster care. Our store has dressing rooms and sizes for everyone from babies to teens. Please browse, bid, and give generously to this very worthy cause. Our community’s children in the foster system will have memories of their experience and how special The Twig made them feel for a lifetime!

The Twig Cares Online Auction begins at 6:00 pm on September 23rd, 2021, and ends precisely at 6:00 pm on Sunday, September 26th, 2021. Please join us for The Twig Online Auction Kick-Off Party on Thursday, September 23rd, 5:30-7:30. You will be able to view the awesome auction items and make your first bids! Refreshments will be served. You will be able to pick up your items on Tuesday, September 28th, 2021 from 4-6 pm at The Twig – Venice.

They are open from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Fall might be here and things are a bit slower but it is the perfect time to remember the Venice Farmers Market this Saturday. Vendors offer produce, fresh baked goods including bread, pies, bagels and pretzels, wild-caught seafood, Florida-grown mushrooms, boutique cheeses, locally roasted coffee, kettle corn, hand-crafted soap, essential oils, nursery plants, and fresh-cut flowers. In addition, local artists will be attending the market offering award-winning photography, unique clay art and jewelry, hand-designed clothing for children and adults, and more. The Farmers Market is located on W. Venice Avenue between Harbor Drive and Avenue des Parques, located between City Hall and the Hecksher Park tennis courts. April – September market hours are 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Participating authors include Vicki Chelf, Ann, and Alan Votta, Rena Koontz, Lucia Barrett, Kate Costigan, David Marks, Hannah Bagnall, Christina Westott, Karen Hamilton, Simone Knego, Tara September, Darlien Simos, Barbara Knight, Teresa Michael, Carolyn Angiolillo, Betty Mann McQueen, Mary Katherin Wainwright, and Martha Reed. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2021. The Bazaar is a large indoor warehouse and does allow for great social distancing as you meet the authors.
