Hickory Hollow

Hickory Hollow
5717 18th St E, Ellenton, FL 34222

The Hickory Hollow is a family-run business that has been serving quality food for 35 years. They serve up traditional-style barbecue with the tomato-based sauce but specialize in Eastern N.C.-style barbecue that is hickory-smoked and marinated in sweet vinegar and seasonings. The menu is extensive and includes hickory-smoked pork spare ribs, barbecue chicken, char-grilled prime rib, and baby backs that our customers are going nuts over. For those who prefer entrees from the sea, they offer a wide selection of grilled and fried seafood, including Baltimore-style crab cakes, fish, soft shell crabs, scallops, and shrimp.

Start your meal off with a yummy appetizer such as Smoked Fish Spread, Stuffed Olives, Grilled Pork Shanks, Wings anyway you like them!  And finish yourself off with a delicious homemade dessert (Apple Crisp, Cobblers, Bourbon Pecan Pie, Bread Pudding all served with vanilla ice cream melting over top, oh my!). Wicked Dolphin Distillery

Wicked Dolphin Distillery
131 Southwest 3rd Place, Cape Coral

Started in 2012, Wicked Dolphin Distillery is located in Cape Coral, just miles from the fertile sugarcane fields of Florida. Wicked Dolphin Rum was born out of an idea for a true Florida Rum. Using 100% Florida sugar and local ingredients, their rum is handcrafted in small batches using an American copper pot still, the largest in South Florida. One of the best adult beverages is the blueberry or strawberry rumshine, made from the same small batch process as their other rums.

The Wicked Dolphin Distiller offers tours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Fridays by reservation. So if you have out-of-town visitors or maybe want to participate in a unique experience, book one of these today and walk through the steps of sourcing ingredients, cooking, fermenting, and distilling right here on the Suncoast.
