The Summer Bazaar with many local vendors is in the air-conditioned George Mullen Activity Center in North Port on Saturday, August 21, 2021. Shop local with many artisans, craft vendors, and others in the beautiful city of North Port here on the Suncoast this Saturday, and grab a friend or family member to accompany you. This is a great way to support the community while shopping out of the heat of the hot end-of-summer here on the Suncoast. Hosted by Local Ladies Social Network that is an event coordinating company supporting small businesses in our local communities. See you out shopping up a storm this Saturday!

Join Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast for a monthly Food Truck Friday Night this summer at Bay Preserve!

Enjoy food and fun with family and friends as you take in a beautiful summer sunset on the shore of Little Sarasota Bay. Each month a different food truck will join us for this free event. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to sit on at this picnic-style gathering. The August food truck Big Blue Grilled Cheese Company serving up creative versions of the classic family favorite. Check out their Facebook page to see sample menus and learn more about their offerings. In addition, members of the Conservation Foundation team will be onsite to answer any questions you may have about their work, and the Burrows-Matson House will be open to the public.

St. Pete’s oldest living museum is a botanical paradise in the midst of the bustling city. The 100-year-old Sunken Gardens is home to some of the oldest tropical plants in the region. Meandering paths guide visitors through a living collection of more than 50,000 tropical plants and flowers with lush demonstration gardens, cascading waterfalls, and a flock of flamingos.

As one of the last remaining Florida roadside attractions, this historic gem requires some additional care when visiting. Visitors to Sunken Gardens should prepare to stay on the paths, refrain from touching or climbing the plants and structures, and respect the animals’ space by viewing them from a distance. Gardens may be closed due to inclement weather.

Monday through Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Sunday: Noon to 4:30 p.m.
The last admission is sold at 4 p.m. daily.
