8th Annual Summer Cabaret Festival

Venice Theatre is delighted to invite audiences to its 8th Annual Summer Cabaret Festival. This popular event keeps music lovers and theatre-goers entertained during the summer with a variety of music in a nightclub setting. The festival continues in “Pinky’s Cabaret” (the theatre’s black box Yvonne Pinkerton Theatre) through Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021. Tickets are $25 for each show.

Eight different acts – some new, some returning – will be performing throughout the festival. Performances take place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays through Saturdays and at 2 p.m. on Sundays. The festival is coordinated by Venice Theatre’s General Manager and Director of Diversity, Kristofer Geddie, with musical direction by Resident Music Director Michelle Kasanofsky. The Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County is a non-profit organization, No-Kill Animal Shelter, with a 98% save rate in Charlotte County. We promise that any animal that enters its doors and can be made adaptable through veterinary care and/or training will have a roof over its head, food, enrichment, and the love of all its staff and volunteers for as long as it takes for each and everyone to find their new home. So, come hang out with some of the agency’s adoptable dogs, Saturday, July 31, 2021, from 11 am to 3 pm. You are invited to come by to say hello to these cuties, and the best part is we do not require appointments! That’s right, you will be able to come over to spend time with the dogs, and hopefully, you will find your new furry family member.

Children ages 0-6 and their parents and caregivers are invited to join us for a fun-filled storytime on the library lawn! Stories in the Shade will be held weekly on Saturdays at 11:00 AM. Storytime will be picnic style so bring a blanket or chair to sit on! In the event of inclement weather, storytime will be rescheduled for the following week. What an amazing opportunity to take in the great weather and instill the love of wonderful stories in children here on the Suncoast. Make this stop part of your Saturday morning routine, and we will see you out under the trees!
