Palmetto Fourth of July Festival

Palmetto Fourth of July Festival
Sutton Park, 1036 6th St W, Palmetto, FL 34221

The festivities for the Palmetto Fourth of July Festival will take place at Sutton Park, and that will be followed by fireworks over the Manatee River. The annual fireworks show also returns to light up the Manatee River this Fourth of July, in partnership with the cities of Bradenton and Palmetto, as well as Manatee County. Award-winning country music singer Wynonna Judd and The Big Noise will be the musical act and the celebration is expected to begin at 5:00 p.m. EST. The Palmetto Community Redevelopment Agency will sponsor the celebration to promote the City’s downtown business district, the parks, and the waterfront. This should be a raucous, great event for everyone in the area of Palmetto this year on the Fourth of July.

Nancy’s BBQ is one of the places to eat in Sarasota if looking for barbecue! Chef Nancy Krohngold prepares her own Boston Butt using a secret 14 ingredient rub, then cooked for 15 hours! This downtown Sarasota restaurant is a must-visit any day but Sunday when they are closed. You will find North Carolina-style barbecue on the menu and know you are the right place when you spot the big red tractor outside the restaurant. From pork, brisket, ribs, sausage, chicken, salmon, or even mushrooms for vegetarians, they serve it in several ways! Try it on a sandwich, salad, combo tray with slaw. If coming with the family, try a feast that feeds 4-10 people and includes a mix of meats, sides like baked beans, cheese grits, potatoes, edamame succotash, and rolls! AND OF COURSE – check out the BBQ, Bands & Beer Bash for the Fourth at Nancy’s.
