| Angela Naff |

The Suncoast Post asks, “What’s On, Suncoast?” Here are a few ideas for things to do around the area this week of March 19, 2021 – March 26, 2021!

Canoe and Kayak Sprints

Olympic Trials

Canoe and Kayak Sprints
Nathan Benderson Park

Due to pandemic concerns, the 2020 Olympic trials and Toyko Olympics had to be postponed. Trials will now be held March 19 through 21, 2021 for Canoe and Kayak Sprints, and stand as the first of two National Championships. If you are out enjoying the amazing trails at Nathan Benderson or wish to observe more fully, see some of the best water sport athletes show their talents off this coming weekend. Support the community and these wonderful athletes trying for a place on the world stage! And as always remember, Nathan Benderson is an outdoor venue that serves the community with so many amazing sporting, musical, and family adventures it should be a regular on your list of places to visit around the Sarasota/Manatee County areas.

Lerner and Loewe’s CAMELOT

Camelot

Lerner and Loewe’s CAMELOT

This winner of multiple Tony Awards, this musical is sure to be a crowd-pleaser while showing her on the Suncoast. Sir Lancelot and Queen Geunevere’s love is front and center with hauntingly poignant musical scores throughout. With showtimes between March 19 and April 1st, and previews on March 17 and 18th – you don’t have unlimited opportunities to catch this Suncoast showing. Face coverings are required, temperature checks and no physical playbills are just some of the precautions in place for the safety of all patrons attending this or other shows at the Asolo Repertory Theatre currently. This is an outdoor stage and additional social distancing will be administered. If you have been missing live shows this might be the one to break that streak.
