What's On Suncoast

What’s On Suncoast? 12.26 – 1.2

| Angela Naff |

The Suncoast Post asks, “What’s On, Suncoast?” Here are a few ideas for things to do around the area this week of December 26 – January 2, 2021!

American Victory Ship Mariners Memorial Museum

American Victory Ship Mariners Memorial Museum
705 Channelside Dr., Tampa, FL 33602

This museum is touted as one of only four fully operational WWII ships in the country, located behind the Florida Aquarium. Whether you are a history buff, a kid that loves gadgets and vehicles, or a war memorabilia buff, this is a must visit. During the cooler winter months, this makes for a wonderful adventure for the entire family. Open every day of the year except Christmas Eve and Christmas day; this is a sure-fire crowd-pleaser for a day out on the Suncoast of Florida. Several safety precautions are being undertaken to provide the safest, most sanitary experience for all guests, so be sure to check out the website or Facebook page before planning your visit.

Shore

Shore
465 John Ringling Blvd. #200, Sarasota, FL 34236

Looking for maybe a smaller special night out this week with that special someone, or maybe a fabulous lunch with some guests from out of town. Why not give Shore a look if you haven’t been – or even if you have. The fresh seafood and culinary treats that await you are worth the hype. From Shrimp Ceviche and Guacamole for a starter to soups and some of the tastiest seafood offerings, this is a memory-making meal in a setting that is second to none for showcasing all the finery of the Suncoast. Make your reservations to experience this treat for yourself.

First Night St. Pete’s Annual New Year’s Eve

First Night St. Pete’s Annual New Year’s Eve
Virtual

This highly anticipated annual New Year’s Eve party by First Night St. Pete is going virtual this year. Like so many other things that 2020 messed with, New Year’s will be a much different sight this year. That is not limiting the artists and events that First Night St. Pete has lined up to help you ring in 2021. By supporting all the performers coming straight to your living room, button packages are still available. Then gather a small group in your home, pop on the big screen, and participate with some great options to make this night some special. Check out the website for the amazing line up of events and how you can get involved this New Year’s Eve!

Green Market Cafe

Green Market Cafe
2570 Gulf to Bay Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33765

This fresh and healthy meal driven cafe could be just something new you have been craving. This restaurant has an amazing menu of wraps, salads, flatbread sandwiches, and soups. Oh, and did we mention they source much of their fresh veggies, fruits, and other ingredients from local farmers. Priding themselves on amazing food free of hormones, preservatives, and other unhealthy additives at affordable pricing, this is sure to be a repeat stop once you give this eatery a try. Don’t forget the fresh yogurt to top off that amazing lunch – hurry and stop by this week.

Snowcat Ridge

Snowcat Ridge
27839 Saint Joe Road Dade City, FL 33525

Yes, we know this might be a little bit further out, and colder than we Floridians like. There is only one place where those of us raised in the north can get our fill of snow-filled rides and fun for a day, and then return to the more temperate weather for the Suncoast by walking to your car. Snowcat Ridge has unlimited snow tubing included with paid admission and access to Arctic Igloo with play areas for the younger kiddos and snow enough to build a real snowman. Additionally, the Alpine village for food and hot cocoa along with other beverages and so much more. This memory-making outing could give a taste of winter without the need to travel.
