What's On Suncoast

What’s On Suncoast? 10.6 – 10.13

| Angela Naff |

The Suncoast Post asks, “What’s On, Suncoast?” Here are some ideas for the area this week from October 6 – 13, 2023!

Walk Run

Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk

Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk
5851 Nathan Benderson Circle, Sarasota, FL 34235

The Suncoast community walks for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to raise money for research, education, advocacy, and support for those impacted by suicide. Benefits the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The Community Walks, held in hundreds of communities across the country, are the core of the Out of the Darkness movement, which began in 2004. These events give people the courage to open up about their own connections to the cause, and a platform to create a culture that’s smarter about mental health. Friends, family members, neighbors, and coworkers walk side-by-side, supporting each other and in memory of those we’ve lost.

Hours: October 7, 2023 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Stillhouse Suncoast

The Urban Stillhouse by Horse Soldier

The Urban Stillhouse by Horse Soldier
2232 5th Ave South Downtown St. Petersburg, FL 33712

The Urban Stillhouse here on the Suncoast is reservation-only for all dining, including bar seating. The countertop seating along the upstairs railing and the lounge is available for walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis and offers appetizers and cocktails. Calling ahead is recommended, as sometimes it is unavailable due to a private event. The food is a marriage of new and traditional American cuisine featuring elevated takes on classic staples. They update the menu seasonally to ensure quality and creativity and only use the freshest locally sourced meat, fish, and produce.

The bourbon-inspired dishes are cooked to order on the wood-fired grill that uses wooden staves from our bourbon barrels to produce that exceptional open-flame taste. The Urban Stillhouse is just like the premium spirits made by Horse Soldier Bourbon: authentic, award-winning, and all-American. Join the family in celebrating the American Dream.
