37th Annual Cortez Commercial Fishing Festival
10am-6pm Today and Tomorrow
4528 119th St. W. Cortez, FL 34215
60+ artists, 20+ Food vendors and lots of live music! This is a fundraiser for F.I.S.H. (the Florida Institute for Saltwater Heritage). Come experience the last working fishing village in Florida. Admission is $4 (kids 12 and under are free). Offsite parking available at G.T. Bray Park (5502 33rd Ave Dr. W. Bradenton, Fl 34209),and Coquina Beach. There’s a $3 round trip shuttle to the festival. Or you can park one block east of the village and take a 5 minute walk.

Dock Talks at the Cortez Commercial Fishing Festival

As you wander around the fishing village you can learn more about the fishing heritage of the area from UF/IFAS Extension Florida Sea Grant faculty on the loading docks. Check out local species and the fisherfolk and vessels that bring them in.

The comics: Dree Friar, William Lewis, Kyle Raymond, Jon Silman, and Jeffery Walling are sure to bring a roaring good time!
