Family Packing Party for the Troops, Leap Year Event

Show your appreciation for our troops! This is for the whole family to do. You can bring your own things to put in the box like cookies, letters, artwork, socks. There will also be art and letter writing tables set up to make it there. This is a wonderful way to let the troops know that they are not forgotten and are so appreciated.

Taste of Punta Gorda and Beyond

This is the 13th Annual Taste of Punta Gorda and Beyond. There are 32 plus restaurants from the area serving samples of their signature dishes. There will be a kid’s zone, a Silent Auction and a Rotary Village to educate folks on what this area’s clubs are doing. Musical entertainment will be happening all day with the BoogieMen and others.

Artist’s Reception – Deborah Pierce Bonnell

Hosted by Conservation Foundation, this reception is for the very talented Deborah Pierce Bonnell. Her exhibit is called ‘Reflecting on Florida’ where her work will be displayed for any to see. She paints oil on canvas, encaustic on panel, pastel, watercolor and printmaking. This will be a delight for your eyes. You need to RSVP even though there is no cost.

One of my favorite local bands – Doug Deming & The Jewel Tones will rock your night! They play traditional blues, West Coast and Texas swing and early 50’s rock, plus their own originals. There will be food and beverages available for CASH ONLY, please.

Parrish Heritage Day Parade & Chili Cook Off
1210 83rd St. E., Parrish Fl 34219
Come out and watch a parade and then enjoy the Parrish Chili Cook Off at the Florida Railroad Museum. Bring a big pot of chili or just a chair to listen to the live music. There will be local food and other vendors, too. Park at the Parrish United Methodist Church 12180 US 301, Parrish FL and take the bus to the event. Tickets are $10
