The Perlman Music Program Suncoast is a Perlman Music Program (PMP) Winter Residency program that strives to provide the best environment to educate young string musicians. The Perlman Music Program Suncoast supports and nurtures these young musicians of exceptional talent by providing an additional opportunity to continue their training at the PMP Winter Residency at USF Sarasota-Manatee here on the Suncoast. This wonderful program is celebrating its 20th anniversary of offering shows during the winter months to the public for even great enjoyment of this musical talent base.
PMP Suncoast hosts the PMP Winter Residency for young musical prodigies ages 12-20+ who play the violin, viola, cello, and bass. The program provides valuable mentoring and performance opportunities for young, promising musicians from all over the world. This is a life-changing experience that shapes the lives of these young musicians. PMP’s world-class faculty, led by acclaimed violinist and conductor Itzhak Perlman, oversee a curriculum of solo, chamber music, and orchestral repertoire at the highest level. Events include orchestra and chorus rehearsals, Works In Progress (WIP) recitals, and Master Classes.
Founded by Toby Perlman in 1994, The Perlman Music Program (PMP) offers unparalleled musical training to young string players of rare and special talent. With a world-class faculty led by violinist and conductor Itzhak Perlman, and a signature summer program on Shelter Island, NY, PMP is developing the future leaders of classical music within a nurturing and supportive community.
