Hurricane Michael Devastation- SunCoast Blood Bank Needs Your Help


Hurricane Michael slammed the Florida Panhandle as a category 4 hurricane causing massive damage and disruption of services. SunCoast Blood Bank has been asked to help the recovery effort by providing O negative and O positive blood as well as platelets. Those impacted by this historic hurricane are in our thoughts and prayers of us all.

As the holiday weekend approaches the incidences of traumas is higher, cancer patients may need blood transfusions to help them through the long weekend and we’re asking all eligible donors to please visit a blood drive or donor center near you and donate lifesaving blood. 

Important Zika Update From The Suncoast Blood Bank


The FDA ceased collections for all Florida blood banks that are not testing for the Zika virus.

Many hospitals across the state have reached out to SunCoast Blood Bank to help meet the need caused by the loss of local blood products in various areas of the state. SunCoast Blood Bank’s first priority is to meet local needs, but we also feel that it is our duty to help out neighbors in need that are adversely impacted in Florida. We ask eligible donors to come help the SunCoast and it’s neighbors by donating blood this weekend.
