Kettle of Fish Celebrates 15 years of Music in Sarasota and Beyond


Kettle of Fish came to Sarasota in 2004 and they haven’t looked back! Getting their start at the Siesta Key Oyster Bar (SKOB), they have been entertaining audiences in the Sarasota/Manatee area and beyond! Their eclectic setlists range from classic tunes by The Band and Tom Petty to their own original music, & deep tracks from rock to blues.

Kettle of Fish Productions and Kelly’s Live presents “Tom and Jerry Fest” featuring the music of Tom Petty and Jerry Garcia. After the success of the sold out Tom Petty Birthday blowout last fall at the Five O’ Clock Club, the party moves across town to the bigger White Buffalo Saloon on Saturday March 9th.

Dana Lawrence, lead singer for the group Kettle of Fish announced this week that their new website has gone “live”. contains information about the band, their gig schedule, photos, and other great information. Current members include Greg Poulos on guitar (formerly with the Freddie King Band, the Venturas, Rock Bottom), Chris Guertin on bass (Big Kahuna Band), Rick Andre on drums (has toured with the Platters, Ben E King, Chuck Berry) and Robin Swenson on keys (Four Seasons, Aretha Franklin)

A charity event to help to local SRQ musicians whose homes were damaged by Hurricane Irma was rockin’ at Kelly’s Live at Sarasota Skybar on Sunday! Four great hometown bands played and raised over $2,000.00!

 A friend recently took a cruise to Cuba from Tampa.  Two other people I know took flights and stayed in Airbnb rentals which were safe and much cheaper than hotels. Staying in a Cuban home is a great opportunity to learn more about how the Cuban people really live.  There are hotels available for those are looking for the creature comforts of home and more.
