Visit Sarasota – The Future of Travel to be celebrated throughout  2022’s National Travel and Tourism Week

For the last 38 years, the first full week of May has been catered to and reserved in communities nationwide towards National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW). This prestigious week gives various communities an opportunity to showcase the impact of travel to business leaders, policymakers and numerous media tied to the industry. NTTW is also a week-long celebration, honoring the “Future of Travel” by recognizing the inspirational individuals within the community that keep the industry thriving. Save the date, as this year, Visit Sarasota County will showcase this celebration with an awards breakfast on May 5, 2022, from 8:30-10:30am at the Carlisle Inn and Conference Center.

Tourism Events During the Showcase

During the event, Senior Industry Specialist-Tourism for ADARA, Inc. Leroy Bridges, will speak on the “The Future of Digital Marketing in Travel” and point out exceptional individuals who will continue doing their part in excelling the industry within the Sarasota community. Five awards will be given out to those who have made tourism a success in the destination. Awards include the Management Excellence award, recognizing a manger or supervisor who demonstrates a significant positive impact on staff while also mentoring their team to inspire unforgettable experiences to visitors; and the Rising Star award, recognizing an emerging leader in Sarasota County who exhibits ongoing contributions and exceptional growth within the tourism and hospitality industry. This will be followed up by the “Voice of Sarasota” award, which will honor and recognize a special person who has made a major impact on tourism throughout Sarasota County.

The breakfast banquet at the Carlisle Inn and Conference Center will be a country buffet-style, and will include eggs, bacon, biscuits and sausage gravy, French toast, hash browns, and an assortment of pies, including the award-winning apple pie from Der Dutchman.
