The Girls, Jack’d Up Band, Clancy’s Irish Pub, and Some Incredibly Generous Folks in Our Town
Last Friday evening was a night I will never forget. We went to see one of the best bands in our area, Jack’d Up perform at Clancy’s Irish Sports Pub. The girls love live music and of course the kids chicken and fries are the best.

As the first set was ending, Nancy Cohen went up to the mic and spoke about the girls, their plight and how everyone can help by purchasing a ticket to the big event at the Swordfish Grill & Tiki, or make a donation. The girls were standing with Nancy. After she finished, Band Leader (and Birthday Boy!), Kurt Kiehnle took the mic and said “all of the tips from tonight’s performance will be donated to the Charlee and Nova Florida 529 Education Fund.

What happened after that was absolutely incredible. One by one, just about everyone who attended Clancy’s threw money into the tip jar. And I’m talking about lots of money. At the end of the evening $1020.00 was collected. That is an unbelievable amount of cash donated at the spur of the moment.
How great is our town? We keep saying that it takes a village and this goes to show you how true it is. Thank you Kurt, thank you Jack’d Up Band, thank you Clancy’s and most of all thank you to the folks who donated. You are wonderful.

Sorry, because it happened so fast, I didn’t get any photos.
