Tampa Bay Lightning announce 2018-2019 Schedule
With free-agency talks open, trades underway, and lots of signing rumors throughout the sports community – it’s clear that hockey off-season still leaves plenty to follow even during summertime. Unfortunately, it’s still a few months until we get to put on some jerseys and head to a Tampa Bay Lightning game.
Our local NHL team, the Lightning, left last season (and the last handful of seasons) with some unfinished business. With a crazy talented top-6 forwards, a roster full of All-Stars, a goalie that frequently makes highlight reels without even batting an eye, and quite arguably some of the best decision-makers in professional sports with GM Steve Yzerman, Head Coach Jon Cooper and Owner Jeff Vinik at the helm – the stars have seemed quite aligned for the Bolts.
But, getting kicked out of the Eastern Conference Finals by the Washington Capitals who would then go on to win the Stanley Cup, gave another taste of “Always a Bridesmaid, Never a Bride.” Happens all too often for the Bolts the last few years and while frustrating, it feels like with each close call we’re getting even hungrier for that Stanley Cup Championship.
So now’s your chance to hop on the bandwagon before I make a personal early call here (hoping this gets past my editor who is an Islanders fan) – The Tampa Bay Lightning take it all the way this year. The 2018-2019 season dates were just announced so mark your calendars and grab some tickets while they’re hot!
