As of Tuesday, May 19th, the Swordfish Grill and Tiki is open for limited dine-in guests. We will be open daily from 12-9pm. TEAM Swordfish has spent the last couple of weeks with diligent training, cleaning, building, cleaning, innovating, and more cleaning. We are proud to come back and serve you safely and we’re excited for you to see some of the changes we’ve made.
To ensure the utmost safety for guests and team alike, a lot of our processes will look different for a while.
We are introducing our new “Safe-Seating” strategy. This is to limit the flow of people walking by others and gathering. We’ve made some unique changes to our deck seating that we are eager for you to see. This also ensures that each table is at minimum 6.5-8 feet away from another and there is a clear, open path from the entrance directly to your table.
For now, the biggest adjustment will be that we are asking that you call ahead, reservations required. No walk-ins. Simply reserve a table right on our website, or give us a call to get on the list. This way, you can wait in your car until your table is ready and avoid large groups congregating.
My Mom is 81 years old and one of her favorite places to be is her spot at the tiki bar enjoying the beautiful FL weather, live music, and time with her friends. We want her, her friends, and everyone else to be able to come out and enjoy our restaurant freely as comfortably as possible. Which is why we took the extra time to be extra safe, and we ask you to continue to comply with CDC guidelines. For our families, and for yours.
Masks are encouraged
We’re doing our best to protect you, please do your part to protect our employees as well. We do not take this lightly. We ask that you maintain social distancing recommendations. Please feel comfortable to wear your mask to our restaurant, as ALL of our staff will be doing. We will also be selling Swordfish-branded masks, made by our friends at SublimeSTX, if you want to cover up in style. You’ll even see our favorite fisherman, owner John Banyas, sporting a buff around the premises.
Your safety and our team’s safety are of the utmost importance and your understanding is greatly appreciated.
We will still have live music and the events you know and love. But, we’ve learned a lot in this time-off and understand many people are still opting to stay home. So, we will continue doing crab races and happy hour extravaganza virtually as well, so those who can’t make it can still participate and enjoy the camaraderie. We want everyone to feel a semblance of normalcy while maintaining safe practices.
We’ve tried to think through pretty much everything so you’ll notice some other little changes. We will be using paper menus, table side cash-out, and encouraging minimal congregating. Unfortunately for now, the dance floor is closed but feel free to dance by your tables!
Curbside & dockside available
We will also no longer be offering groceries, but will still keep up with and encourage our touch-less curbside and dockside takeout!
We’re doing everything we can to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for each guest, so please do your part as well. Don’t assume everyone else is comfortable with as close of contact as you are.
We know one of the hardest adjustments is going to be trying to keep a safe distance from those regulars you missed. We’re getting ready to roll out a cool way for you to send some love to your friend at another table. It’s going to be hard not to hug your favorite Swordfish team member for now but the next best thing is by giving them a generous tip.
Thanks to the community
Lastly, we wanted to send a big, warm Thank You to all of you who have stuck with us. We’ve been overwhelmed with support. Our community has been a part of raising $40,000 for fellow local tourism and service industry employees. Through financial contributions, donations, gift-certificate purchases, to-go orders, and kind words, you have supported our team with so much love in a truly trying time. We are humbled and forever grateful for our community of guests, partners, family, and friends.
Looking forward to seeing you, and for many good times ahead at the Swordfish Grill and Tiki.
Sincerely, Bob Slicker and TEAM Swordfish
