Virtual Film Camp

Sarasota Virtual Film Camps add “Spooky Movies”

| Paul Ratner |

SFF film camps have gone virtual this year. The camp offers 7 weeks of film education and creativity to kids from all over the United States and several other countries.

July 20-24, the popular virtual film camps feature “Spooky Movies.” This week is for kids who love films about vampires, goblins, witches, zombies, ghosts, and other things that go bump in the night.

Who Should Attend?

This camp is for all who’d want to make a fun spooky mystery (and who probably love Halloween too). The campers will learn how to make such films, focusing on screenwriting, cinematography, VFX, directing, make-up and acting. We will teach the campers how to use the necessary filming equipment, including green screens, as well as how to edit in Adobe Premiere or similar applications.

We will also learn some film history. Including watching and analyzing clips from age-appropriate classic and current spooky films – The Nightmare Before Christmas, Monsters Inc., Scooby-Doo, Addams Family, Hotel Transylvania, Goosebumps, Gremlins, and others.

If you have a young person (8-14) in your life who’d like to sign up, we are happy to offer SFF fans the discount code “filmcamps15” to get 15% off the registration fees. SIGN UP YOU CHILD TODAY!

More on the Virtual Sarasota Film Camps”

Adapting to these challenging times, we are now offering our unique curriculum online for students 8-14. Film educators with decades of industry experience will keep your kids learning and entertained while at home.

Many Pros of Attending Virtual Film Camps

Our film and media program will help students not only stay creative and engaged during the summer but also make them stronger media creators. These camps enrich them with an invaluable skillset for our times. Young filmmakers will be taught in a fun, conservatory model where each student gets to experience different film-related professions. They will learn aspects of being a screenwriter, director, production designer, editor, cinematographer, and actor. The kids also genuinely understand the value of teamwork and collaboration.

The finished projects will have public screenings for family and friends on our YouTube channel and in social media.

Camps run 9AM – 12PM EST with continuous live instruction on Zoom / Teachable.

Every week of the camp features a different theme. These range from online videos to superheroes, fantasy, and other genres. The theme will have its own specific curriculum and will be used to inspire the created short films and videos.
