Covid19 Pandemic Forces Cancellation of 25th Annual Sarasota Holiday Parade

With the holiday’s still several months away another event has been cancelled due to the Coronavirus.  The 25th Annual Sarasota Holiday Parade has been cancelled.

There were just too many variables involved to try and put on the event in a safe manner.  The event which was originally scheduled for December 4, 2020, has been canceled because there was just too much of a possibility of spreading the infection to the thousands of people who attend the event and of course all of the folks who are on the parade floats.  The organizers of the event made the announcement on the parade website and on Facebook.

From the holiday parade website:  In the interest of our community’s health and safety, the 25th Anniversary of the Sarasota Holiday Parade is postponed to Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021. Although December 2020 is still several months away, parade participants generally start working together to practice walking entries or build float entries starting in August or September.

Attention to every detail… many varied costumes, dancers (including Rex, Mr Potatohead and Buzz Lightyear), the spectacular float – even the tiny children riding along were dressed like crayons! – make this our most honored entry for 2018. Big congratulations to Jump Dance Company
