Sarasota Film Festival Proudly Unveils Its 21st Anniversary Poster For 2019 Season
The Sarasota Film Festival released today the poster for the upcoming 21st anniversary for the festival, April 5th-14th, launching the start of the 2019 edition. The design was created by Sarasota-based agency, Wilde Productions, and helps to exemplify the theme for this year’s festival, “The Beauty of Intelligent Film.”
Entitled “Glitch Girl,” the poster art is a symbolic representation of the new era of digital intelligence, not only materializing in our society, but also transforming the culture of film. A robust woman emerges, juxtaposed behind a reel of film, signifying the beauty that comes with brawn.
“We are thrilled to have ‘Glitch Girl’ as the poster for our 21st anniversary of the festival, which embodies what we have strived for over the last two decades: celebrating the artistry of truly brilliant filmmaking,” said Mark Famiglio, President of the Sarasota Film Festival. “We are also excited to have collaborated the start of the festival with a local organization, Wilde Productions, and have the art in this year’s poster fuse the dynamic flavor of our community.”
The festival is a staple in Sarasota and the film community, drawing over 50,000 patrons, who gather to celebrate the best in cinema. Over the last two decades, the festival has screened groundbreaking films, documentaries and shorts that deliver key messages to audiences, as well as engaging them in conversations with actors, filmmakers and industry professionals.
