Our Community Lost a Great Guy and He Will Be Sorely Missed
Remembering Phil Martin
We lost one of the great guys a few days ago. Phil Martin fought a courageous battle against cancer.
His wife, Tina posted this on Facebook: 9~23~26. This wonderful man Phil Martin is now breathing easy with no sickness and no pain. . He passed during the night with me by his side. I never believed in finding a soulmate until I met Phil. He was my person.
Please pray for us as we manage this difficult time.
If you knew Phil at all, he was about love and peace and that is what I wish for you all as you are remembering him.
I have so many fond memories about Phil. He was a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan. I remember watching games with him on Sunday at 88 Live or Clancy’s. Of course, the Chiefs usually won and my team, the NY Jets usually lost. After the games he would always try to console me. That was Phil.

Love, music, and community
He loved live music and frequented all the local spots. We hung out, talked sports, talked about the wonderful bands in our community and the conversations were always upbeat and fun…… never any negative.
If someone needed help, Phil was always there. He and Tina attended so many charity events to give their support where it was needed.
And, he loved talking about his dog, “Dude.” They were real buddies.
My condolences to Tina and the entire family. Phil will be missed. A Celebration of Life will be announced in the near future.

There are many tributes on Phil’s and Tina’s Facebook Page.
Feel free to leave a tribute below.
