Running from May 18 through July 10, 2026, the summer lineup at OLLI at Ringling College features a diverse mix of educational programming in arts and culture, technology, history, music, politics, science, and personal enrichment. Classes are held at the beautiful Sarasota Art Museum campus in Sarasota.

Organizers say the summer semester was designed to inspire curiosity while giving lifelong learners meaningful opportunities to engage with experts, artists, educators, and fellow community members.

Summer Classes and Featured Programs

Among the featured programs this summer is a timely workshop on artificial intelligence titled “Using AI on Your Smartphone,” where participants will learn how to use tools like ChatGPT and Google Gemini directly from their mobile devices for everyday productivity and creativity. The class reflects the rapidly growing interest in AI technology among adults of all ages.

Another standout event is “Mission Green — The Importance of Both Local and Global Forests” with renowned forest canopy scientist Meg Lowman. The presentation explores global conservation efforts and the importance of preserving forests for future generations.

History and culture enthusiasts will also find plenty to enjoy. “Origins: Sarasota Artist Colony, 1945-1965” takes a fascinating look at Sarasota’s influential artistic roots and the creative figures who helped shape the region’s cultural identity.

Lifelong Learning on the Suncoast

OLLI programs continue to grow in popularity throughout Sarasota and Manatee counties as more retirees, professionals, and lifelong learners seek intellectually stimulating experiences without the pressure of grades or exams. The institute has been a recurring part of the Suncoast’s education scene, including previous coverage of OLLI at Ringling College’s summer semester and its winter semester programming.

The institute operates as part of Ringling College of Art and Design, one of Florida’s premier creative institutions. Founded in 1931, Ringling College is internationally recognized for its innovative arts education programs and strong ties to Sarasota’s cultural community.
