Local Musicians and Friends Giving It Back To Help Feed Hungry Kids
On Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 6pm, a very special event will be taking place at the Swordfish Grill and Tiki, Cortez, Florida. Some of the best musicians in our town along with a little help from their friends are “Giving Back” with a concert to help feed hungry kids.
Every Friday, hundreds of homeless kids leave school with little hope of having any food for the weekend. F.E.L.T., Feeding Empty Little Tummies is an organization that is helping to feed homeless children in Manatee County, one backpack at a time. Every Friday during the school year, these kids are sent home with a backpack filled with nutritious food for the weekend. F.E.L.T. is based on the foundation of volunteer, donor-generated charity. All proceeds go directly to providing homeless children nutritious food while not in school.
Billy Rice, Twinkle, Kim Betts, Dana Lawrence, Greg Poulos and Tanya Mccormick are graciously giving their time to put on a concert to raise money for F.E.L.T. Bob Slicker, GM of the Swordfish Grill and Tiki will be donating a portion of their proceeds to the charity. There will be some awesome silent auctions, great raffle gifts, a vacation giveaway and more so everyone will have a chance to give back. The show will be produced by Laura Adams and presented by The Sarasota Post and Sande Caplin and Associates. REMAX Alliance Group has signed on to be the main sponsor. Leo Binetti is the Musical Director.
There will be a “Happy Hour” with music by Tim Chandler, and some very special guests.
