This past Sunday night SunCoast Blood Bank celebrated the holiday season with their staff, volunteers and board members. With over 180 in attendance the Sarasota Sailing Squadron provided the perfect back drop of our beautiful bay front and sparkling city scape shining under the Super Moon.
The Sarasota Chamber of Commerce honored SunCoast Blood Bank with the 2017 Non-profit of the Year Award which enhanced the celebration. Keeping in line with the blood bank’s mission of serving the local community, they were able to enjoy the festivities with all local business providing everything including the food catered by Nellie’s Deli, live entertainment by the Billy Rice Band, poinsettias grown right here in Sarasota at Albritton’s Nursery, and the venue upgrades by U.S. Tent/Linens By the Sea. A volunteer team of six high school students who dedicated 8 hours of their weekend to decorate the venue, serve the staff, clear tables and then clean-up was refreshing to watch as they were all so professional.
Needless to say, under the Super Moon all the vampires and other staff at the blood bank felt appreciated and renewed their commitment to serve our community with enthusiasm and compassion for those who chose to help with the SunCoast Blood Bank’s mission of Saving Lives.
