It was a busy weekend in Florida for the nominees and their representatives. A great opportunity to see the candidates and their surrogates in action. Starting on Saturday morning, Republican nominee Donald Trump rallied at the State Fairgrounds in Tampa. He was introduced by Florida’s Attorney General Pam Bondi. Mr. Trump brought along former Saturday Night Live actor Joe Piscopo.
In Sarasota. Vice President nominee Tim Kaine appeared at The Francis on Palm Ave. Mr. Kaine then traveled up to St. Pete to the State Theater on Saturday night for an appearance with rock star Jon Bon Jovi. A capacity crowd of 700 packed the State Theater in the lively downtown area. Kaine joined Bon Jovi on harmonica on an acoustic version of his hit “You Give Love a Bad Name”
In Orlando on Sunday afternoon, President Barack Obama stomped for Hillary Clinton. Osceola Heritage Park stadium saw a capacity crowd of 11,000 as counted by US Secret Service who were heavy in attendance. The opening act was Michelle Obama’s favorite musician Stevie Wonder! Stevie played several of his hits including “I Just Called to Say I Love You” and “Superstition”. Introducing the President were Senator Bill Nelson and Democratic Senate candidate Patrick Murphy. President Obama spoke for about 40 minutes to an excited crowd. One of the last opportunities for Floridians to see him in person before he leaves office in January. The common message from all the candidates and celebs – GO VOTE!
