Very Important Information from the team at the Suncoast Blood Center- My name is Giselle Arocho, Communication Coordinator, at SunCoast Blood Center. We would like to ask for your help to spread the word about the EMERGENCY NEED for blood donations. Multiple blood centers across the country, in particular Texas where blood center operations have been suspended for 3-4 days, are in immediate need of blood products to sustain operations and support.
Our brothers and sisters from TEXAS have no power and experiencing extremely cold temperatures. The need for blood in the hospital never stops.
“When we experience bad weather here with hurricanes, we get our blood supplies or units from other parts of the country, so it’s our turn now to help those in need,” said Joan Leonard, Community Liaison.
Leonard says blood donations are quite safe here at the Suncoast Blood Centers even if you’ve recently received either COVID-19 vaccinations.
CDC guidelines are strictly followed and the majority of the staff at the center have already received their second dose of the vaccine.
