HURRICANE HARVEY- Bradenton, Cortez, Holmes Beach, AMI and Everyone- PLEASE HELP TODAY!
PLEASE…. Drop off your donations at the Swordfish Grill & Tiki, TODAY.
Hurricane Harvey has completely devastated Houston, Texas and the surrounding area. With lives lost, countless injured, and tens of thousands of people displaced, they need our help NOW. There is a group of rockstars using the Swordfish Grill and Tiki in Cortez as place to collect items for Hurricane Harvey relief, and you can get involved.
Coming from Florida’s gulf coast, we are no strangers to the insurmountable destruction and aftermath of these powerful storms. Let’s join together to do everything we can to help assist those affected. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, called the storm “one of the largest disasters America has ever faced,” and said the region would not recover anytime soon.
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed or helpless in such scary times, but help is possible and they need action. Here is an important way to help: The Swordfish Grill and Tiki in Cortez is a drop point to donate items for Hurricane Harvey relief supplies and right now, they are working on filling a 30ft covered trailer that is heading out Wednesday morning.
Do your part by dropping off non-perishable items to the Swordfish Grill as soon as possible. Some items needed: Bottled waters, diapers, non-perishables, bleach, laundry soap, toilet paper, dry food goods, batteries, portable chargers, feminine hygiene products, pillows, sleeping bags.
Spearheaded by a few people who saw the news and knew that they had to do something to help, Nate Weissman, John Leiter, Landon Mac and Nick Haupt started to spring into action. Barker Boatworks donated a 30ft enclosed trailer to hold the donations, Andros Boatworks donated a truck to haul the trailer. Adam Sears donated a skiff to help with rescue efforts. With their initiative and a generous community, donations have been pouring in and they might even have an airboat!
The Swordfish Grill will be accepting donations and filling the truck until it leaves Wednesday morning so please, gather what you can and stop by to add your items and love TODAY.
