In what was a total surprise, well-known businessman in our area,  Bob slicker was honored as the Anna Maria Island Rotary Club “business person of the year!”  Our team at the Suncoast Post thought it would be best to hear about the event in his own words (Posted on Facebook)

WOW, Last night I was surprised by AMI Rotary Club with the Business Person of 2020. I would like to thank each and every member of AMI Rotary for all they do for Our community and for such an honor. I am grateful and blessed to be recognized for accomplishments that ALL of you helped me achieve over the years. This last gig we assembled a Great Swordfish Team, 5 People’s Choice Awards on 5 entered food competitions, Citizen of the Year, Large Business of the Year and now topping it off with this from AMI Rotary(still shocked). Please know these are ALL TEAM awards.

There are many organizations and people that have helped me through the years with every fundraiser that I’ve ever done since the first day I moved to Anna Maria Island, without Your help WE could not have helped the Many people WE have been fortunate enough to help over the years!  You are only as strong/good as the people you surround yourself with and well, I am truly blessed for God has surrounded me with the most Inspirational and giving people! Please remember during the holidays that there are many charities that are hurting this year due to the pandemic, cut back a little and give a little more! Blessingbags.org is One of my favorite charities, they take care of many children during the holidays with gifts and food for their families, you can make a difference more than ever this year! Remember One person can change the world, and that person is you.
