Area Blues Musicians Stage Benefit for the HART Fund

The Suncoast Blues Society is co-sponsoring a benefit for the HART Fund with Ace’s Live in Bradenton on Sunday, February 26, from noon until 4 pm.

Host Greg “Stretch” Gerdes and his Special Guest Rj Howson will turn the Sunday acoustic jam into an electric blues extravaganza for the event.  The HART Fund (Handy Artists Relief Trust) is a program established by the Blues Foundation in Memphis for Blues musicians and their families in financial need due to a broad range of health concerns. The Fund provides for acute, chronic and preventive medical and dental care as well as funeral and burial expenses.

Area musicians who will be appearing include: Bryan Lee, Doug Deming, Lauren Mitchell, Billy Seward, Kat Crosby, John Peterson, Jason Haram, and David Smash,(Bob Menzies on drums and Jack Barry on bass as the house rhythm section.) Appearances Subject To Change.   Donations will graciously be accepted throughout the event. Suncoast Blues Society members will be holding a raffle for CD packages, Bradenton Blues Fest posters and t-shirts, and other cool stuff.

We will also be wrapping up a raffle for the HART Fund which includes two guitars, a Dean Acoustic for playing and an autographed Jay Turser Strat-copy for display. We have been selling chances at the Suncoast and Sea-Blues Festivals, and the winners will be drawn at the close of this event.

Tickets for the raffle will be $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00.  All donations and raffle funds raised will be donated to the HART Fund.
