Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce Announces the Retirement of Cathy Pizzo

From the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce:  It is with much gratitude and appreciation for her contributions and loyalty to our Chamber that we are announcing that Cathy will be retiring at the end of the year to help take care of her aging parents. |

Cathy’s retirement is coming sooner than planned, but her parents need some help now and she feels she can add some life to their lives.

Cathy has been a true asset to our members and our community as a whole, and we know each of you will join us in wishing her everything good life has to offer……and then some. She will most definitely be missed!

Cathy started with the AMI Chamber in October 2015 as the office administrator. In May of 2018 she took on the role as Vice President. Cathy enjoys getting to know and helping member businesses, and being engaged in the community. After spending her childhood in Puerto Rico and then many years in the desert in Southern Nevada, she now feels back at home living by the sea and working on tropical Anna Maria Island.

About the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce

From the website- With over 570 members, the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce plays a fundamental role in promoting local businesses and area tourism. Our Chamber of Commerce works as a liaison between the government and private sectors. Our partnerships benefit our members and allow us to develop beneficial programs that help our community. We work closely with Manatee County & local city officials, as well as the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (BACVB), the Economic Development Council (EDC), where we have a seat, and the Manatee County Emergency Management System on disaster relief.

The AMI Chamber proudly supports its community through several initiatives. Whether it is a disaster relief fund for our hospitality industry, scholarships for our local youth, or hosting fun-filled island festivals, giving back to our community is of utmost importance to us. We are proud to have developed a partnership with Manatee County to run the Trolley Give Back Program. Under this program we have bestowed over $325,000 in grants to local non & not-for-profit Island and Cortez organizations in an effort to preserve our island, its wildlife and its colorful and unique arts and culture.
