Easter Sunrise Service

A Glorious Easter Sunrise Service on Anna Maria Island

| Suncoast Post Staff |

It was an absolutely wonderful Easter Sunrise Service on Anna Maria Island, on Sunday, April 4th.  The service was held at the Manatee Public Beach.  The event was sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Anna Maria Island.  It was the 56th Annual Sunrise Easter Service!

The event started at approximately 6:30 a.m.  Hundreds of locals and visitors attended the event.  Some walked, others drove, there were folks on scooters and the Island Trolley brought people to the event.  The weather was perfect although there was a chill in the air. People brought beach chairs and blankets to enjoy the service.  It was a wonderful celebration on the beach as everyone was able to show their gratefulness for our lovely island that we call paradise!

At the end of the service,  the Offertory collected will be divided among island churches and the Kiwanis Club of Anna Maria. for their SCF Key Club Scholarship Program.

Those  attending were asked to wear a face mask, and temperatures were taken upon entry.

The Anna Maria Kiwanis Club Community Service along with the Sunrise Service, helps with the  Salvation Army Christmas Bell Ringing,  supports the Anna Maria Island Elementary School, Anna Maria Island All Denomination Food Pantry & gives financial support to nonprofit organizations.
