Stone Crab & Music Festival

9th Annual Cortez Stone Crab & Music Festival a Huge Success

Smiling faces! That’s the best way to describe the scene at the 9th Annual Cortez Stone Crab & Music Festival held on Saturday- Sunday, November 13 and 14 at the Swordfish Grill & Tiki in Cortez, Florida. It was a fabulous lovefest!

The attendance was huge with thousands of folks coming out to enjoy great food, fabulous live music, wonderful local vendors, and of course the star of the weekend….hundreds of pounds of Stone Crabs that were enjoyed by so many people who attended!

Stone Crab & Music Festival

You could feel the positive vibe all weekend as everyone was just so happy to be out in the fresh air! The crowd wanted to have fun as it’s been a long time since we were able to go out and let loose. For 2 days folks were singing, dancing, having a beer or two, and just showing the love!

Last year’s festival was canceled because of Covid19 so this year’s event was just so extra special! My personal highlights of the weekend were seeing some of my favorite performers like Doug Deming and the Jewel Tones, Ted Stevens and the Doo Shots, Tim Chandler, The Eric Von Band, and of course everyone’s favorite Twinkle and Rock Soul Radio. The dance area was crowded all weekend. Oh, you could just feel the love.

Complete list of music performers:  The music was on three stages which included Ted Stevens, Tim Chandler, Ragas, and the Moonshiners, Doug Deming & the Jewel Tones, Rush Tribute Band “Rushhour,” TC & the Rockin Relics, TH & C, The Tony Tyler Trance, Ted Stevens & The Doo Shots, Eric Von Band, Stockton Brothers Band, and Twinkle Rock Soul Radio.

Portions of the proceed went to the Blessing Bags Project and F.I.S.H. Congratulations to all the volunteers who worked so hard to make this event a huge success. It’s all about “Cortez Strong” and the wonderful folks who live in our town.

On a personal note, I was overwhelmed by the love and affection from so many folks (some I didn’t even know) who met “Mookie” for the first time in person. This little guy is really special and is putting a smile on so many faces.  It warms my heart.

Next year, the Stone Crab & Music Festival will be even bigger and better with plans already underway to continue to bring on the love.
