Friday, August 24, 2013…..there was a lot of entertainment going on in the Sarasota – Bradenton area. So much, that I certainly can’t list them all in this article! That is why Don McKeon’s GoTonite.com is such a great website. You can get “all” of the entertainment in our area at their website. Many of you know Mark Kracker. I met Mark several years ago at the Flying Dog Cafe. He is truly a great guy! The “Associates” (Sande Caplin & Associates) went out on the town last night! I did the Wave last night! No, not standing and raising my arms at a sporting event. I did a show along with guitar genius Jami Gee, drummer Eddie James Liashek, and Scott Stevenson on bass at The Wave Grill at Ramada Venice Resort Hotel. Everything about last night was extraordinary. Therefore, I have to share it with all of you. First of all, the hotel itself is a work of art right down to the bathroom and very elegant. When you walk in the front door you immediately feel like you have stepped into a tropical resort.

The Michael Allman Band is a hot group. They play some great places in Florida and around the country. When I heard that the band was going to be playing in the Sarasota / Bradenton / Anna Maria Island area I was surprised and excited. I asked Mark Bartlett, General Manager of the Swordfish Grill how he got the Michael Allman Band to play at this great Cortez venue. His answer, “I asked Michael and he said yes!” That’s all it took…..a phone call and a little Facebook messaging!
