Hurricane Irma caused quite a stir around our community last month. It forced the postponement of a very important charity event, “Giving Back” to support the Blessing Bags Project. Swordfish Grill General Manager, Bob Slicker worked hard to reschedule the event. The new date is Thursday, October 19. This is a private event and the Swordfish will be closed on Thursday evening.

Our staff at The Sarasota Post has the privilege of receiving “media passes” for the 2017 World Rowing Championships at Nathan Benderson Park.  Today, I had a chance to watch some competition, enjoy awesome food, listen to some great music and mingle with the huge crowd.  What a fabulous day.

Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus- The End of an Era?

This past month, an American Icon became a part of American History, with the final performance of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus. As I watched the show live on YouTube, I got a phone call from my daughter in Texas who was also watching. She was on the verge of tears as she told me how sad it was for her that she would not be able to take her children to see a Ringling Brothers Circus.

Forks and Corks Fills The Ringling In Sarasota

The 10th Annual Forks & Corks event held at The Ringling last weekend was a beautiful success despite a gray start to the day.  Attendees took the weather as a cue to don boots, jackets, and an occasional hat to meander the rows of well-stocked tables full of Sarasota’s finest food and wine fare.
