Kettle of Fish came to Sarasota in 2004 and they haven’t looked back! Getting their start at the Siesta Key Oyster Bar (SKOB), they have been entertaining audiences in the Sarasota/Manatee area and beyond! Their eclectic setlists range from classic tunes by The Band and Tom Petty to their own original music, & deep tracks from rock to blues.

This year the 53rd annual Super Bowl is happening in the Big Peach – Atlanta – on February 3rd! For 3 days leading up to the game from January 31st – February 2, Bud Light and On Location Experiences is hosting the debut of the Super Bowl Music Fest at the 21,000 seat State Farm Arena (formerly Phillips Arena). Situated in downtown Atlanta near the Mercedes Benz Stadium where the game will take place, it is a perfect venue to host the first ever Superbowl Music Fest.

The music scene in Sarasota and the Tampa Bay surrounding areas in 2018 was full of great shows both local and national. We are fortunate to have a mixture of venues to experience live music within a couple of hours drive from stadiums and arenas in Tampa & Orlando to some of the best theaters in Clearwater, St. Pete, Sarasota and south to Ft. Myers. Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium (Home of the Tampa Bay Rays) hosted both the Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran shows. Sheeran’s tour, being the largest selling tour of the year according to Billboard, with Swift coming in a close 2nd.

The Police Athletic League of Manatee County, founded in 1989 by Sheriff Charlie Wells, has been and will continue to be a safe place for thousands of children in the community. Today, Sheriff Rick Wells, son of Charlie Wells, is dedicated to the legacy started by his father by assigning Deputy Ralph Bryant & Deputy Francine Houston from MCSO to PAL. PAL uses athletic and recreational programs as a tool, a way to involve children in the program which instills pride, responsibility, self-confidence, teamwork and respect and we are able to do this through that bond between the law enforcement officers and the kids.

It’s been 15 years since Brian Setzer and his orchestra started bringing his rockin’ Christmas show to audiences during the holiday tour season. It is one of the most popular Christmas shows around the country. A fun, upbeat time where fans dress up in their yuletide best which means everything from lights, to tinsel and crazy Christmas sweaters! There were many of those at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater on Wednesday night!

It’s that time of the year when finding a perfect gift begins as a slow train of thoughts and list-making and ends in feverish Google searches for something special as the holidays approach. No matter how uncommercial you are going this year, inevitably you will be purchasing a gift for a Secret Santa, White Elephant, Pink Pony—whatever the title may be. Even if your gifts will be lovingly handmade at your kitchen table or purchased online while enjoying a cup of coffee with Christmas movies on in the background, shopping can be a daunting experience. For some, it’s a nice day out with the girls where bargains are lauded over lunch and wine after a few stores have been canvassed. And, still some will ceremoniously fight the crowds and lines to nab that great find at nearby malls.
