A Day at the Museum of Natural History, New York City!

There is something very special about going to a museum… especially my favorite of all-time, the New York Museum of Natural History. The last time I was there was when I took my kids- about 30 years ago! Now, I had the opportunity to go with 3 of my grandboys and several family members. My son-in-law, Rob gave us a fabulous Christmas gift- a day at the museum.

3 Easy Ways to have a Happier and Greener Holiday

America is a consumer nation, there is no doubt about that. There is no other time of the year that this fact is more obvious than during the holidays. We all pretty much know that Americans will spend an average of $900 extra dollars this season, but did you know we will generate 25 million pounds of extra garbage between Thanksgiving and New Year’s? That’s in addition to normal monthly household garbage. No wonder we feel the need to leave a 12 pack of beer atop the pile of boxes and bags of wrapping paper heaped up on our curb on the first garbage day after Christmas. A few of the stats jumped out at me, and I’ve come up with some alternatives that can not only keep some cash in your pocket, but will go a long way to keeping our garbage men and the planet happy.

Jannus will be rockin that Saturday evening with this ‘daring duo of bands’ line up. Recently, I had the opportunity to speak with Charlie Starr (lead vocal and guitar) of Blackberry Smoke about the band, the music and their future projects.

A Roadtrip, A Dick, And A Happy Birthday!

I spend my summer’s in Northern Wisconsin at my family vacation home, settled on two lakes, and over eighty acres.  Since having added a mini pig, Officer, to my family, driving from Florida with him and his brother, a black cat with OCD named Uncle Putt, has become necessary.  Oh, Officer can fly, but Delta […]

Southwest Florida is Blooming

In honor of Earth Day and all the fantastic colors and greens blooming in our yards, let’s talk about the benefits of planting easy-to-grow plants, flowers, and vegetables in your outdoor spaces.  I am going to say the best smelling flowering bush in Florida could be jasmine.  Obviously, this is my personal opinion born from […]
