Where Have You Been, Emily Skyy?

The Swordfish Grill never ceases to amaze me.  Last night thhe brought in a lady unknown to the Sarastota / Bradenton  area to perform, Emily Skyy.  And wow, did Emily perform.   This beautiful, talented and charming young lady put on quite a show last night.  The large crowd was in awe as Emily sang lots of tunes that really aren’t sung very often around here!  Emily likes to call herself a singer, songwriter and entertainer.  We spent a few minutes together last night and she has quite a story!

You could tell that Emily Skyy and her muscial parnter Peter Vann really enjoyed performing last night. They sang songs from the 1940’s to today’s TOP hits.  Emily told me that they had a steady gig at the Hard Rock Cafe in Tampa for a quite awhile.  How lucky we are knowing that Mark Bartlett wants Emily and Peter to come back to the Swordfish Grill and entertain on a steady basis!  These two great entertainers did some R&B, Rock, Jazz, Standards and a little Country music last night!

Emily Skyy considers herself a seasoned performer who has been singing since she was seven years old. She plays the violin, guitar, and piano. She has also won several singing competitions including the Broward County Fair in 2009, the Colgate Country Showdown in 2008 , the South FL Fair in 2010 and has performed on stage with “The Fabulons” one of South Florida’s favorite event  bands.  Her singing experience ranges anywhere from local charity events to large musical productions.

With the “season” rapidly approaching, it’s nice to know that the Swordfish Grill, and their great staff will continue to bring great new fresh talent to our area.  Emily Skyy who is from Tampa / St. Pete is someone worth coming down to see at “The Swordfish Grill.”  Watch the website www.swordfishgrillcortez.com for more information.
