Sextet pays loving tribute to the late Cal Tjader, a Puerto Rican drummer, percussionist and vibraphonist of some renown who started out playing with Dave Brubeck and George Shearing, and went on to break new ground in Latin and Afro-Cuban jazz in upwards of 70 albums spanning 1951 through 1982.
