Taylor Brings Three Nights of the Incredible Eras Tour to Florida!!!
Over 180,000 people came to Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium (Home of the Miami Dolphins) for three nights of Taylor Swift and her record-breaking Eras tour. Swift and company are winding down after over a year & a half on the road through five continents. When the tour is complete, there will have been 152 shows and it will have made over $1 billion! It has been a Phenom, the numbers are staggering and Swifties everywhere have made and traded millions of friendship bracelets!
Attending the 3rd night of the Miami shows, it was packed to the Dolphin’s gills. Attendance for the show was 61,000! The dress attire ranged from evening gowns to boots, glitter freckles, Taylor t-shirts, dyed hair and everything in between. There were generations of families, teens, single guys, couples, kids and of course, there were beaded bracelets galore everywhere. Just as the show started, so did the rain. Singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams took it in stride and opened the show with a nine-song set that included her hits, “I Love You, I’m Sorry” and “Close to You”. She and Taylor have collaborated on writing the song, “us”.

A two-minute countdown clock appeared on the screens around the stadium and the noise was deafening as Taylor made her way on to the stage right on time opening with the “Lover” era, “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince” in a Versace body suit and boots. There are approximately sixteen costume changes throughout the show themed to her various albums. The Tortured Poets Department new era was added during the European leg of the tour and not seen in America until Miami. Taylor appropriately brought Florence Welch (Florence and the Machine) along on all three nights for their collab on “Florida!!!” The Sunshine State crowd was ecstatic to hear this original tune by the two longtime friends and songwriters. There was a 2 minute standing ovation (everyone was standing throughout the show) after her piano performance of “Champagne Problems.”

Swift transitions from pop tunes productions to acoustic music with ease both on guitar and piano from era to era. For this show she had two surprise mashups with “Out of the Woods/All You Had to Do Was Stay” on guitar and “mirrorball/Guilty as Sin” on upright piano. There were the hits too, “You Need to Calm Down”, the favorite “Shake It Off”, Reputation’s “Ready for It” part of a 46 song set! It is theatre and music combined. The dive into the water is a great illusion. The large screen graphics are amazing and lighting is stellar. The stage is a $150 million set! The moment in the show during the song “22” when she gives a fedora hat to a young fan is a sweet moment for these young fans. Taylor called it the last rain show of the tour as all other future venues are closed roof. Being pros, she and her dancers hoofed it through the rain, smiling the whole way.

She closed the show with songs from the Midnight era with the last song being “Karma” in which she gave a shout out to Travis Kelce with “the guy on the Chiefs” lyric who had just won his sixth game in a row that day. There was confetti and fireworks over the Hard Rock Stadium in celebration for a job well done! One wonders what she could possibly do next to top this tour. It has been historic on so many levels. Taylor has reinvented herself many times, I am sure she will show us something new when this is over. In the meantime, Swifties in New Orleans, Indiana and Canada are getting ready for it when the Swift Eras tour comes to their city! Check out everything Tay at Taylor Swift.
