Suncoast Blues Festival- An Overwhelming Success!

What a fabulous Friday evening and all day Saturday event at the second annual Suncoast Blues Festival.  This “blues lovers” party was an overwhelming success with great music, awesome bands from all over the country, delicious food and lots of vendors who had interesting items for sale.  The chilly weather did not chase anyone away!

The event was held at the Sarasota Fairgrounds and brought in attendees from all over the country!  It was so nice to see our local talent, Kettle of Fish and the Sean Chambers Band perform.  Also performing over the 2 days were JP Soars and the Red Hots, Andy T-Nick Nixon Band, Anthony Gomes, Markey Blue, Brandon Santini, Howard and the White Boys and Albert Castiglia.  There was also a great “after party” at The Five O’Clock Club!

The event was produced by Paul Benjamin and Gregory Herndon.   Stage, sound and lights were provided by MOJOE Productions.   Mothers Helping Mothers a local Sarasota Charity was the recipient of a portion of the proceeds.

Mothers Helping Mothers an all-volunteer not-for-profit organization, has been providing basic necessities such as clothing and baby items free of charge to families in need. All items are donated or purchased through grant funding or private contributions and are provided free of charge to our clients. Additionally, they offer emotional support and referrals to other agencies in the surrounding area.

Plans are already underway for the 3rd annual event in 2017.  Watch the Sarasota Post for more information.
