Stephane Wrembel, Superb Guitar Player to Perform at Fogartyville

French Musician Plays in Style of Django Reinhardt, Known for Woody Allen’s ‘Midnight in Paris’ will be performing at Fogartyville Saturday, April 6 at 8 p.m.

The French musician, who immersed himself in Sinti culture to learn their renowned musical style, has headlined Jazz at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, The Town Hall in NYC and The Lyon Opera House in France. He has toured and/or shared stages with master violinist Mark O’Connor, Sam Bush, Stochelo Rosenberg, Esperanza Spalding and Al Di Meola.

Wrembel’s annual Django á Gogo Music Festival & Guitar Camp, which takes place in early May in New Jersey, brings together some of the finest musicians in the world.

His breakthrough came when his original composition, “Bistro Fada,” was chosen as the theme song for Woody Allen’s 2011 Oscar-winning film, “Midnight In Paris.” Wrembel performed the Django-influenced swinging waltz during the 2012 Academy Awards ceremony with an all-star ensemble led by Hans Zimmer.

Tickets for the April 6 concert at Fogartyville are $30 for members of WSLR+Fogartyville, $35 for not-yet-members and $17 for students (13+).

Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center is located at 525 Kumquat Court. Audiences should enter the performance space from the alleyway.
