NBP Fiesta! Fridays Continue with Country Music for November at Nathan Benderson Park

One Friday every month, a socially distant night of food, drink, music, and fun brings people to Nathan Benderson Park. NBP Fiesta! Fridays promise waterfront entertainment, food, drink, and exhibitors on the park’s Regatta Island.  And this month, for Friday the 13th, it’s gone country — The Dive Bombers and the Derek Lersch Band will perform, both for their first time at the park.

NBP Fiesta Safe Fun for All

Both bands are appearing at the park for their first time. The Dive Bombers say they play “the music of George Jones, Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, Jerry Reed, Merle Travis, Chet Atkins, and Non-Fat Elvis, with instrumental virtuosity and an irresistible sense of fun.” The Derek Lersch Band, with more than 350 shows under its belt, brings a modern country feel.

The CEO of the park’s nonprofit operator, Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates (SANCA), said NBP Fiesta! Fridays are a “wonderful and healthy event.”

“SANCA does it again with another NBP Fiesta! Friday, specially planned for keeping everyone safe during the pandemic,” Tomas Herrera-Mishler said. “We take advantage of Nathan Benderson Park’s amazing ambiance and ample open space to provide lots of social distancing while enjoying live music and fun. Last month’s kickoff was such a blast and a relief to get out of the house, enjoy some live music and do it together, but apart.”

Tickets are $10 each for ages 15 and older and free for kids 14 and younger. Admission limitations cap at 1,500 to ensure social distancing and tickets are available online. Tickets will be available at the gate on a space-available basis. Parking is free, and the event goes 5:30-9 p.m.

Organizers highly recommend getting tickets online, to ensure availability.

NBP Fiesta! Fridays are scheduled for Dec. 18, and in 2021 on Jan. 22, Feb. 12, and March 19.
