Myakka River Blues Festival- May 26th
The Suncoast Blues Society is proud to present the 3rd Annual Myakka River Blues Festival on Memorial Day, May 26th. I sat down with Steve Arvey, “South of the Bridge Ambassador” for the Blues Society to discuss the event.
I can tell you first hand that this is an awesome event. The setting is on the Myakka River with fabulous views of the river, awesome wildlife, beautiful birds and so much more. It is an all day event from 11-7. It’s a fabulous event for the City of Venice. Scheduled to Appear– Lady Katt and the Howling Dogs, Professor Harp, Hurricane Hawk & Steve Scott, Berry Oakley & Skylab, Betty Fox Band, Ghost town Blues Band and the Sarasota Slim Revue with Kid Royal & Nitro Boseman.
Proceeds of this festival benefit “Loveland Village.” The organization assists developmentally disabled adults. They are collecting donations to build a residential facility on the current campus in Venice. From their website…. The Loveland Village is dedicated to providing adults with developmental disabilities an affordable housing option that allows them to maximize their abilities and maintain their independence in the least restrictive environment. This independent living model is one of only a few of its kind throughout the nation and could be replicated nation-wide. www.lovelandcenter.org
It’s going to be a fantastic event! Bring you lawn chair and get ready for some fun, food, drink, music, relaxation & more.
