Monday Night at “Manhattan Mikes”

Over two and a half years ago, fellow drummer Bob LaFlamme approached me about getting together to jam.  He had just taken up bass playing and knew I had available space in a bedroom I converted into a music room.  Along with Phil the Hat, we started jamming on Monday nights in my home.  After a few months of jamming, I decided to open it up to other musicians and we moved the jam into my living room.  I decided to call it ‘Monday Night @ Manhattan Mike’s’ on Facebook and used the site to thank each musician for coming out to play.

I also have to thank my wife Audrey for allowing us to take over the living room; although, with Monday being her YMCA night, the timing worked out.  I’ve had the pleasure of playing with superb musicians like Gary Drouin, Greg Slusher, Tom McKnight, Gene Marino, Carolyn Davis, Ron White, Tom Carrano and Panama Pete Straw, just to name a few. Out of these Monday night sessions, Panama Pete, Tom Carrano, Bob Laflamme, and I formed The Usual Suspects.  
We are currently the host band at The Flying Dog Cafe’s blues jam every third Thursday of the month.  I want to thank the musicians that continue to support my little jam and look forward to playing with them in the future.
