Educator, composer, and holder of a Ph.D in Music Esthetics, Karl Berger remains one of the most innovative orchestral and jazz arrangers still active today. Active in influencing the jazz world since the 1960s, Karl Berger is a key player in the founding of “world jazz,” in which he worked extensively with Don Cherry’s legendary quintet, winning no less than six Downbeat Awards as a jazz soloist. Berger’s virtuosic skill in a variety of areas allow for outlets of creativity that have secured him a spot as an acclaimed composer in the experimental jazz world.
Over the past forty years, Ingrid Sertso has established herself as a distinctive vocalist known for her blending of jazz styles and world-beat rhythms. Since the late 1960s, Ingrid Sertso has been performing with musical greats including Eric Dolphy, Don Cherry, Steve Lacy, and Leo Wright. In 1972, she released her first album, “We Are You,” and spent the next twenty years performing until the release of “Dance With It,” which catapulted her into international acclaim. Her distinctive, hypnotic sound and beguiling poetic voice have captured audiences and critics alike.
