Kara Nally, Beautiful Songs From A Beautiful Lady

I had the pleasure of meeting Kara Nally for breakfast twice over the last 30 days at “First Watch” on Main Street in Sarasota.  Both times, Kara was stylishly late!  I have come to learn that is Kara being Kara!  It didn’t bother me…..it’s Florida and no one is chasing me!  Kara never stops talking- she has so much to share.  She is a bundle of enthusiasm.  Kara was born in Weymouth, Mass and also lived in Norwalk, Mass.  She went to the same high school as Susan Tedeschi……different years!  Kara started singing Mariah Carey songs when she was in the first grade.  She has played with many different bands since the age of 14.  She always sang in the chorus in her high school years.  She proudly told me that one of her uncle’s performed on “Broadway” in New York City.

In August of 2005 Kara came for a visit to Sarasota and fell in love with our wonderful city!  She stayed for six months, got home sick and went back home to Massachusetts.  That only lasted for 30 days.  Kara packed up her stuff again, came back to Sarasota and has been here every since.  Kara started to perform in Sarasota in 2009, attending her first “Jam” at the Broadway Bar.  I first met Kara in 2011 at the Flying Dog Cafe.  I immediately knew that Kara was a very talented young lady.

Kara Nally is so proud of the fact that she is the Bridal Consultant Manager at Ana Molinari Bridal Salon here in Sarasota where they proudly show Couture Bridal Gowns.  She had such wonderful things to say about her boss and friend Ana Molinari.

Kara considers herself a very diversified singer liking Blues, Rock and Pop.  She enjoys singing “Love Songs,” but made it a point to say  that she can get “down and dirty” with her selection of songs.  When you come to a Kara Nally performance, you can be sure that you will have an evening of diversified music.  These days, you can see Kara perform in our area at the British Open Pub, The Blue Rooster, Ocean Blues, The Sarasota Vineyards and of course she supports “Ladies Sing the Blues.”  Kara wanted me to mention that currently she does gigs with Jimi Gee, James Varnato, Howlin’ Bob and her new pal Savannah Brady.

I can’t wait to have another breakfast with Kara……I figured it out.  If it is a 9:00 breakfast meeting, I will tell her 8:30!
