Kalos to Perform at Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center on December 5
Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center is set to host Kalos, a dynamic trio known for their innovative interpretations of Celtic roots music, on Thursday, December 5, at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
Kalos comprises Ryan McKasson (violin, viola, voice), Eric McDonald (guitar, mandolin, voice), and Jeremiah McLane (accordion, piano, voice). The trio spans three generations, three cities, and two countries, having met over the years at highland games, contra dances, and fiddle camps across North America. Their music draws inspiration from the maritime traditions of Scotland, Ireland, Scandinavia, and North America, blending driving Irish dance tunes with the pastoral melodies and naturalistic metaphors of Scottish music. While rooted in tradition, Kalos infuses their compositions with new and unexpected elements, creating immersive, trance-inducing performances.
Tickets are priced at $22 for WSLR+Fogartyville members, $26 for non-members, and $13 for students aged 13 and above. Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center is located at 525 Kumquat Court in Sarasota, Florida. Attendees should enter the performance space from the alleyway.
