Guitar Great Diego Figueiredo Returns to Fogartyville In Sarasota

Called by jazz guitar master George Benson, “One of the greatest guitarists I’ve seen in my whole life,” the Brazilian guitar wizard Diego Figueiredo is a force to be recognized.  Acclaimed by the critics as the newest discovery in the guitar world, Figueiredo has made a massive impression in the contemporary jazz world. He received awards twice at the Montreux Jazz Festival, performing amazing concerts uniting technique and emotion in a fusion of Brazilian music and jazz.  Diego Figueiredo will perform in benefit for WSLR Community Radio on Sunday, September 25 at 7:30pm.  Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.  Advance tickets are available at www.wslr.org.

Diego Figueiredo (pronounced fig-a-reed-o) will be making his third U.S. tour this year throughout the month of September.  Diego travels here from the town of Franca, Brazil, which is about 200 miles outside of Sao Paulo. Diego has taken the world of jazz and world music by storm, exciting concert-goers like rarely seen.  His combination of original songs and standards, along with his amazing technique, is garnering him standing ovations throughout his concert tour.
 
Diego has recently returned from London, England where he played for two nights at the famous Barbican Theatre in a stunning concert along with fellow Brazilian João Donato and Manhattan Transfer vocalist Janis Siegel.
