Gladys Knight Makes Love at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Sarasota
It was a “love fest” last night! One of my favorite performers of all time shared the love over and over at the Van Wezel.
Right from the start the crowd fell in love with Gladys as she sang all her favorite songs that we all know, along with some covers, and several new songs!
Dressed in a gorgeous red outfit she had the crowd standing and cheering through out the evening! The set was perfect. Fabulous sound, a fantastic group of musicians and back up singers who all got a chance to show their talent. Gladys introduced every one of her players who she called “her kids”…. because they are kids! You could feel the love that she has for them.
The show was 75 minutes of awesomeness! A total of 16 songs from You’re the Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me, My Imagination, I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Make Yours A Happy Home, Help Me Make It Through The Night, When I Was Your Man / If I Were Your Woman, The Way We Were, Neither One Of Us Wants To Say Goodbye and more. And of course, she closed the show with Midnight Train to Georgia.
Gladys Knight showed us why she is an American Treasure and the “Empress of Soul”.
She will be singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, On Sunday, February 3 in Atlanta, Georgia!
