Fogartyville in Sarasota Presents Shankh Lahiri & Friends

Tabla player Shankh Lahiri returns to Fogartyville on Friday, Nov. 1 at 8 p.m., and he’s bringing a number of talented world music friends with him.

The first set will be an Indian classical duet of Lahiri and sitarist Hindol Deb.

Then, Lahiri will perform (vocals and tabla) with his fantastic Wahh World Fusion Band, which intertwines Indian raga with rock, jazz, and folk music. Members include Elias Tona (bass), Gabriel Ramos (keys), Patrick Hernly (drums), and Hindol Deb (sitar).

Tickets are $22 for members of WSLR+Fogartyville, $26 for not-yet-members and $13 for students (13+).

Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center is located at 525 Kumquat Court. Audiences should enter the performance space from the alleyway.
